Inês Campos Matos is a medical doctor currently training to be a Public Health and a PhD candidate in the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in Lisbon.
She holds an MD from the University of Porto, Portugal and an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In 2014, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to go as a visiting scholar to the Harvard School of Public Health, where she stayed for nine months, developing research on income inequality and population health. Her current research focuses on social inequalities in health in European countries, with particular attention to Portugal.
She is also a Public Health resident in a local Public Health unit at the Portuguese NHS in Caldas da Rainha, where she is responsible and collaborates in health promotion and protection activities at a local level, planning, executing, monitoring and evaluating health and healthcare interventions.
