Almeida, Sara Valente de
Sara Valente de Almeida was born and raised in Lisbon. She holds a BSc. in Economics from ISEG School of Economics and Management, and a MSc. in Economics from NOVA School of Business and Economics. Part of her education was done at ESSEC Business School in Paris, where she was an exchange student.
During her studies, Sara did an internship as a research assistant at the Research and Strategy Office of the Portuguese Ministry of Economics and Employment. This was her first experience outside the academic circle. Later, in 2013, she was accepted at the European Commission in Brussels, where she worked both at the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and for Education and Culture.
Besides her great interest for econometrics, throughout her academic and professional paths Sara Valente de Almeida has developed particular expertise in the areas of Labor Economics and Social policy.
Given her experience and future aspirations, being a member of NHI is for her an opportunity to continue developing her research skills and explore an area of Economics with an extremely important role on the quest for achieving a sustainable development.
